Gunzilla games Launches Blockchain-based Battle Royale Game ‘Off the Grid’ in Early Access
Gunzilla Games, a Gaming developer, has recently launched its highly anticipated Blockchain-based battle royale game, ‘Off the Grid,’ in early access. This move has made the game available to players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Off the Grid brings a new twist to the battle royale genre by incorporating Blockchain Technology into its gameplay. While the game is still in its early stages of Development, this release provides players with a sneak peek into the innovative gameplay mechanics and blockchain-based Economy that will be fully implemented in the future.
What is Off the Grid?
Off the Grid is a dystopian battle royale shooter that immerses players in a sprawling city map where teams must outlast each other to survive. Drawing inspiration from popular titles like Apex Legends and Fortnite, the game introduces a unique gameplay mechanic that allows players to equip and swap robotic limbs during matches to gain new abilities and strategic advantages.
One of the standout features of Off the Grid is its narrative-driven approach, with over 60 hours of story content planned for the game. Co-founder Neill Blomkamp, known for his work on films like District 9 and Chappie, is leading the development of this immersive storyline.
What can we expect from the early access?
The early access version of Off the Grid features a single large city map and a 60-player mode called “Extraction Royale,” where squads of three compete against each other. Players have the opportunity to earn GUN tokens by completing in-game objectives, although the full blockchain economy is not yet operational.
The GUN Token, which is based on Gunzilla’s Avalanche subnet, is set to drive the in-game economy once fully launched, enabling the Minting and trading of NFTs such as weapons and equipment. While the current version offers limited features, the development team has plans to integrate the complete blockchain system in future updates.
As Off the Grid advances through its early access phase, players can look forward to new content additions, including additional game modes, maps, and the full implementation of the GUN token on Avalanche’s mainnet.
