Korean NFT Artist Loses Life Savings Due to Crypto Wallet Theft
In a shocking turn of events, Korean NFT artist DeeKay Kwon recently shared on social media that his Crypto wallet was stolen, resulting in the loss of all his life savings. The incident occurred during a 14-hour flight from South Korea to New York, where Kwon had no access to the internet. Upon discovering the theft, Kwon took to Twitter to express his distress, stating that everything he had earned as a Web3 artist had vanished.

Despite the unfortunate incident, Kwon was relieved to discover that only his funds were taken, and his collection of NFTs remained untouched. Taking swift action, Kwon immediately began transferring his NFTs to a more secure wallet to prevent any further losses.
Security Measures and Past Incidents
Kwon revealed that he had stored a photo of his handwritten seed phrase (not Digital) on Google Drive, hidden in a random folder. Although there were no signs of suspicious login activity, Kwon suspected that his mnemonic phrase might have been leaked, leading to the theft of his funds. This unfortunate event marks the second time Kwon has fallen victim to a cyberattack.
Previously, on July 15, 2022, Kwon's X account was breached, resulting in the theft of his NFTs valued at over $150,000. The hacker behind the attack lured users to a phishing website, tricking them into approving a malicious transaction to claim an exclusive NFT. Through this method, the hacker managed to steal NFTs worth approximately $150,000 from multiple victims.
